I was just thinking of doing something similar to this but with a human face, so I had a look to see what other people had done... I think this is the best I've found to be honest.
Did you use liquify for the crumpled unzip effect?

Thank you, for the most part yes. I used liquify for the eye holes and to get the drooping skin look. Unfortunately I lost a lot of the fur texture after liquifying so I had to hand-draw some fur back on top of it so it looked furry enough.

Yeah, that annoys me about the liquify tool, it tends to blur it a lot D:
